In 2006, Julia performed solos at many charity concerts for causes such as the Asian Tsunami Appeal and the Pakistani Earthquake Appeal.

The largest of these concerts was in the Colston Hall, Bristol's largest concert hall. Julia was booked here as a soloist on two consecutive nights and performed to a full-house of 2,000 people.

In July 06, Julia was awarded the Louis Bertrand Premier Violinist prize at an international music course in Spain.

The award of 250 euros was for her solo performances throughout the course and also for her interactive contribution, working with undergraduate and postgraduate students, whilst working on and performing contemporary chamber music work.

Generously, Julia decided to share this prize money with the other students with whom she had been performing in her chamber music group.
